Stones bring in winger Monakana

Wealdstone completed the pre-deadline signing of winger Jeffrey Monakana from National League South rivals Welling United.

Monakana, 24, has signed a contract until the end of next season but is not eligible to play in Saturday’s FA Trophy semi-final clash with Brackley Town.

He was on Arsenal’s books as a youngster before joining Preston, where he made 40 appearances during a two-year spell.

Monakana joined Brighton in 2014 but did not make a first-team appearance for the Seagulls before leaving two years later.

He has had loan spells at several clubs, including Aberdeen, Colchester and Bristol Rovers.
