Mark Hughes is not to blame for QPR’s dismal recent results, according to defender Clint Hill.

Rangers have lost four of their six league matches since Hughes replaced Neil Warnock as boss at Loftus Road and have had a player sent off in their last two home games.

Hill said: “He’s been great. We’ve been organised, training’s been good – very intense.

“I feel a bit sorry for him really because he hasn’t had the results maybe he deserves, because we’ve done a lot of preparation for games, but when you lose men it makes things hard.”

Saturday’s defeat against his former club Fulham was a bitter disappointment for Hughes, who showed his frustration by brushing away Whites boss Martin Jol at the final whistle.

“It shows he’s got spirit. He’s certainly got that, that’s for sure,” said Hill.

“He cares. We all do. Like the rest of us he doesn’t want this club to go down.

“It’s hard at the moment. You feel like the whole world’s against you. We’re getting no luck at the minute.

“Some decisions are going against us, there are some mistakes we’re making, but we’ve got to get our heads up and be positive.

“We’ve got to address things sooner rather than later because teams around us are picking up points.”
