AVB ‘on brink of being sacked’
Andre Villas-Boas is on the brink of being sacked as Chelsea boss after failing to quell a dressing room mutiny, the Sunday Express declare.
They say that despite Chelsea’s win over Bolton yesterday, owner Roman Abramovich is to concede that his gamble to appoint AVB in the summer has failed.
It is claimed the Russian has been told by his advisors that the time has come to make a change.
Meanwhile, the Sunday Mirror say Abramovich has intervened to make it clear that Ashley Cole must stay at the club.
Last week it was reported that the Russian wanted Cole to be sold after an apparent row between the player and AVB.
