Smith blames himself after Bees draw
Brentford boss Dean Smith blamed himself for the poor performance against Burton.
The Bees laboured to a 1-1 draw at home to the struggling Brewers and Smith believes he should have changed the team after the loss at Cardiff.
He said: “That was probably our poorest performance of the season. I look back and think I probably should have made changes to the team.
“I thought the players showed enough against Cardiff to merit staying in the team and didn’t think it took too much out of them.
“But we were pedestrian in the first half and I was going to make changes at half-time but I put a rocket up them and gave them another five minutes, but I still didn’t really see any change.
“It’s the first time I’ve been disappointed with the standards we’ve set, but I’ll take it on the chin. Maybe we needed to make some changes and put some fresh legs in there from the start.”
