Derby v QPR player ratings
QPR, still without an away win this season and having now lost their last three games, were soundly beaten by Derby. Here’s how we rated each Rangers player in the 2-0 defeat at Pride Park.
Alex Smithies: 7
Produced second-half saves to keep the score down – something he has had to do all too often during his Rangers career.
Alex Baptiste: 6

Played his part in a decent defensive performance by the team in the first half and produced a last-ditch challenge to prevent a third Derby goal.
Joel Lynch: 6
Looked fairly comfortable at the back before being withdrawn at half-time.
Jack Robinson: 6

The stand-in skipper had a reasonable game both on the left of the back three and after replacing Lynch in the middle.
Pawel Wszolek: 5
Willing, but totally lacking any end product. Squandered a very good chance for Rangers with a woefully over-hit ball into the box, where Jamie Mackie was unmarked.
Josh Scowen: 6
Worked hard in midfield and came up with his team’s only shot on target, albeit a 90th-minute effort which was comfortably saved by keeper Scott Carson.
Luke Freeman: 7
Rangers’ stand-out player and by far their most creative. Sent a volley wide, delivered some dangerous set-pieces and managed to find space in a congested midfield, but to no avail.
Jake Bidwell: 5

Caught out on occasions on the flank and offered nothing going forward.
Yeni Ngbakoto: 5
Will it ever happen for Ngbakoto at QPR? He again produced very little on his latest recall to the side and was taken off early in the second half.
Jamie Mackie: 5
Made little impact and missed a decent chance in the second half when he was unable to hit the target following Freeman’s corner.
David Wheeler: 5

With three strikers having been left on the bench, Wheeler was asked to perform an extremely difficult job up front and had zero success before being substituted in the second half.
Ryan Manning: 5
A tough second half for the youngster after he was brought on at half-time. Unlucky when he won a challenge only for the ricochet to lead to Derby’s second goal.
Conor Washington: 5
Aside from a header towards Mackie, made no impact whatsoever after coming on in the second half.
Matt Smith: 6
Headed over. Also struggled to make an impact after coming on.

Will it ever happen for Ngbakoto at QPR? Could ask the same about a number of players. Washington, for one.
