Romaine Sawyers says the form of full-back Josh Clarke sums up the confidence flowing through the Brentford squad.
The Bees have won four of their last five Championship matches and are unbeaten in nine, their best-ever run of form in the second tier.
Clarke filled in at left-back for four of those games before reverting to his favoured right-back spot in the win over Leeds last weekend.
“There’s definitely a confidence to the squad,” Sawyers told Brentford’s website.
“The way you see Josh Clarke playing at left-back, particularly – he’s got a little boost even though it’s not his natural position.
“People like that have spurred others on to be confident in themselves and I think that is showing throughout the whole team.”
“I think the foundations are at the back and, going forward, that has made it a lot easier for us further up the pitch.
“Clarkey playing left-back, he’s out of position but him and the rest of the back four are doing well. That’s just making life easier for us.”
