Tottenham v Crystal Palace: No Alli, Rose starts, keeper’s debut, youngster on bench, Palace man plays
Dele Alli has a hamstring injury and misses the game at Wembley, where goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga makes his Tottenham debut.
Alli’s absence is a blow for Spurs, who are also without defender Toby Alderweireld, but the fit-again Danny Rose makes his first Premier League appearance of the season.
Gazzaniga plays because Michel Vorm, Lloris’ usual deputy, has a knee problem. It also means there is a place on the Spurs substitutes’ bench for 19-year-old keeper Alfie Whiteman.
Serge Aurier, Moussa Sissoko and Son Heung-min also start for the hosts.
Crystal Palace, meanwhile, are without Patrick van Aanholt and Lee Chung-yong, who have hamstring problems, but Mamadou Sakho has been passed fit.
Tottenham: Gazzaniga, Aurier, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Rose, Dier, Winks, Sissoko, Eriksen, Son, Kane.
Subs: Whiteman, Davies, Foyth, Tripper, Dembele, Nkoudou, Llorente.
Crystal Palace: Speroni, Ward, Dann, Sakho, Fosu-Mensah, Milivojevic, Cabaye, Schlupp, Loftus-Cheek, Zaha, Townsend.
Subs: Hennessy, Tomkins, Souare, Riedewald, McArthur, Sako, Puncheon.
