Matt Smith’s late goal gave QPR victory over Wolves. Here’s how we rated each Rangers player in the game at Loftus Road.

Alex Smithies: 7

Aside from the Wolves goal, which he could do nothing about, Smithies was a virtual spectator until the final 20 minutes when he was called into action to save from Diogo Jota.

Alex Baptiste: 6

Out-paced by Jota in the build up to Wolves’ first goal – a blemish on another good outing.

Joel Lynch: 7

Worked well in the middle of QPR’s back three, but it was his wonderful cross to set up his side’s second goal that deserves the plaudits.

Jack Robinson: 8

Back in the side following a hand injury and he showed why Ian Holloway rates him so highly. A strong presence at the back, both with his positioning and his tackling.

Josh Scowen: 7

A typically robust performance from the hardworking midfielder.

Massimo Luongo: 8

Showed wonderful footwork on several occasions and battled throughout. An excellent performance.

Jordan Cousins: 6

Operating on the right in his first appearance since early January, Cousins put in a number of tough challenges in a battling display. But his lack of first-team action showed as he struggled to keep up with the pace of the game.

Luke Freeman: 7

A lively performance from Freeman, who was a handful in the space between the Wolves defence and midfield. He was denied a spectacular goal in the second half when his long-range effort crashed off the crossbar.

Jake Bidwell: 7

A solid all-round performance as he helped to nullify Wolves’ tricky attack. Bidwell’s stunning cross with the outside of his left-foot should have been rewarded, but Smith headed wide.

Conor Washington: 8

His determination to force the ball home gave QPR the lead and Washington nearly had a second when his lob was headed off the line. A fine performance.

Idrissa Sylla: 6

Rarely involved and failed to press the Wolves backline enough.

Matt Smith: 7

Brought on with 25 minutes to go and, having missed an early chance, Smith made no mistake with his second headed opportunity to earn the R’s all three points.

Pawel Wszolek: 6

Worked hard, as did fellow late substitute Darnell Furlong, to help his side see out a deserved wiin.
