Round-up: Blues look to tie up Oxlade-Chamberlain deal and R’s eye winger

Chelsea are close to completing the signing of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal.

The two clubs have agreed a deal worth £40m and Oxlade-Chamberlain, 24, looks set to move to Stamford Bridge.

There has been speculation that Liverpool might also make an offer for him, but so far they have not done so.


Dean set for Birmingham move

Brentford have agreed a deal to sell Harlee Dean to Birmingham City.

The defender’s future has been in doubt for some time as his contract is due to expire next summer and he has refused to sign a new deal.


Aluko leaves Fulham

Fulham forward Sone Aluko has completed a move to Championship rivals Reading.

The two clubs had agreed a fee of around £7.5m for the 28-year-old, who scored nine goals in 54 appearances for the Whites.


QPR confirm Smyth signing

QPR have confirmed the signing of Paul Smyth from Linfield. 

West London Sport recently revealed that Rangers had made an offer for Northern Ireland Under-21 forward Smyth, 19, and subsequently revealed that a deal had been agreed in principle.

Smyth has signed a two-year contract at Loftus Road and will initially play for QPR’s development side. 


R’s agree Wheeler fee

QPR have had an offer accepted for Exeter City winger David Wheeler, West London Sport revealed on Tuesday.

It comes after Rangers made their move for the 26-year-old, having monitored his progress last season.

Wheeler, who joined Exeter from Staines Town in 2013, is expected to sign a three-year contract at Loftus Road.


Yeovil want Goss

Yeovil are keen to sign Sean Goss on loan from QPR. 

Rangers are looking to send Goss out on loan ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline and recently made clubs aware of his availability.
