West Brom boss hints he will try to sign Terry
West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis has indicated that he will attempt to sign John Terry in the summer if the Chelsea captain becomes available.
It follows reports that West Brom made an unsuccessful approach for Terry in January and that he could be tempted to join another Premier League club if, as is widely anticipated, he is released by Chelsea when his contract expires at the end of the season.
“The situation with John is that from what I could gather in January he wanted to stay with Chelsea,” Pulis said.
“There was no approach made. It was just about finding out what the situation was and the situation was that John wanted to stay at Chelsea.
“That is for the summer, not now, and whether the situation changes, whether other people are involved or whether he signs another contract at Chelsea.
“If he becomes available in the summer we’ll sit down and have a little think about what we’ve got and what we haven’t got and we’ll take it from there.”
Terry, who has been at Chelsea for the whole of his career, has previously indicated that he would be reluctant to join another English club.
