Matic in line for contract offer, Mirror say

Chelsea are set to open talks with Nemanja Matic over a new contract, the Daily Mirror say.

Matic has recently been kept out of the Chelsea side and the Mirror reckon Blues boss Antonio Conte wants to sign another midfielder this summer, with Monaco’s Tiemoue Bakayoko and Franck Kessie of Atalanta again said to be on the radar.

But the Mirror also believe Conte wants to secure Matic’s long-term future at Stamford Bridge as he enjoys a good relationship with the Serbian.

Conte is said to have persuaded Matic not to join Juventus last year.

Meanwhile, The Sun claim Chelsea are keen on Real Madrid’s Isco but that Manchester City are confident of a deal to sign him.

Isco has been linked with Chelsea during successive transfer windows despite no approach for the player being made.

Juventus are also said to be interested in the 24-year-old, who has been tipped to leave Real at the end of the season.
