Fulham confirm Jokanovic’s new contract
Fulham have confirmed head coach Slavisa Jokanovic has signed a two-year contract extension.
West London Sport revealed in December that Jokanovic was in talks over a new deal despite speculation over his future.
The 48-year-old, whose contract was due to expire at the end of the season, joined Fulham in December 2015 from Maccabi Tel Aviv, when the Whites were 18th in the Championship table.
They initially continued to struggle, finishing in 20th place, and West London Sport revealed in August that Jokanovic was at odds with the Fulham hierarchy over the club’s transfer policy, which he later confirmed.
But it has been a very different story this season, with Fulham – bolstered by a major overhaul of the squad – just one place outside the play-off spots.
“I have made no secret of my desire to stay at Fulham and to continue the project that we have started,” Jokanovic said.
“This is a fantastic club full of history and tradition and I am proud to be part of that and hopefully to add a little to the story.”
