Chelsea youngster joins Brighton promotion challenge

Chelsea youngster Fikayo Tomori has joined Championship title chasers Brighton on loan for the rest of the season.

The 19-year-old right-back, who has made one first-team appearance for the Blues, was wanted by a number of League clubs.

Tomori has played for England at Under-20 level and can also operate as a left-back or central defender.

“He is a highly-rated young full-back, by both Chelsea and England,” Brighton manager Chris Hughton told his club’s website.

“He is predominantly a right-back, but he can play in any position across the back four, and will give us good defensive cover for the first team for the second half of the season.”
