Ex-players insist famous QPR goal was better than Olivier Giroud’s for Arsenal
Olivier Giroud scored a breathtaking goal for Arsenal in their 2-0 win against Crystal Palace on New Year’s Day.
But was it a better goal than Trevor Sinclair’s famous overhead kick for QPR against Barnsley in 1997? Not according to Sinclair’s former team-mate Kevin Gallen and R’s legend Rodney Marsh.

Marsh and Gallen were not alone, with some fans on Twitter also arguing that Sinclair’s goal was even better than Giroud’s.
I liked Giroud's goal, but there was still an element of luck involved which means it can't qualify as a Trevor Sinclair strike.
