Burton v QPR player ratings
Sebastian Polter’s equaliser rescued a point for QPR at Burton. Here’s how we rated each Rangers player in Tuesday’s 1-1 draw.
Alex Smithies: 6
Produced a good first-half save to keep out a free-kick. Didn’t have much to do in a game of few chances.
Nedum Onuoha: 6
Competed well at right-back without looking comfortable.
Steven Caulker: 6
Solid enough despite being caused problems at times when Burton counter-attacked.
Grant Hall: 6
A tidy display. Could probably have afforded to be more ambitious and bring the ball out a bit more given Burton’s lack of a presence up front.
Jake Bidwell: 6
Produced one excellent block in the first half and overall had a decent game. Unspectacular but reliable, the news he could be out for four months is a concern.
Karl Henry: 6
Performed an important role in midfield but his failure to clear his lines led to Burton’s goal.
Ariel Borysiuk: 6
Rangers improved after the Pole was replaced by Polter but that was no reflection on Borysiuk, who contributed in midfield.
Massimo Luongo: 8
Had a fine game as both an attacking force and a competitor. Was all over Burton’s Matt Palmer in midfield early on and his hard work helped Rangers get a foothold in the game. He was also useful going forward, not least when he set up the equaliser.
Pawel Wszolek: 6
Worked hard on the flank and tried to offer Conor Washington as much support as possible. Had a sight of goal in the first half but was unable to take advantage.
Tjaronn Chery: 6
Went close with a free-kick and caused the odd moment of panic in the box. Not great off the ball though, enabling Burton to break dangerously.
Conor Washington: 6
Tried hard to make things happen up front and had some relative success in the first half, when he created a couple of openings with his persistence. Overall though it was a frustrating night for the striker.
Sebastian Polter: 7
Made all the difference after coming on, hauling Rangers level and then going close with a header. He also might have won a penalty after going down under a challenge in the box.
