McClaren rejected QPR role, Sun claim
Steve McClaren has rejected the chance to rejoin QPR, it is claimed.
The Sun recently claimed that Rangers wanted the former England boss to return to Loftus Road in a senior role to help manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
It was claimed that Hasselbaink would be in favour of the move as he knows McClaren well from their time at Nottingham Forest, and that the appointment would put a question mark over the future of director of football Les Ferdinand.
Now The Sun say an approach to McClaren was made but that he turned it down because he was concerned his arrival could be perceived as undermining Hasselbaink.
McClaren had a spell as coach at Rangers during Harry Redknapp’s time in charge and has since managed Derby and Newcastle.
It was also recently claimed that West Brom manager Tony Pulis was being lined up as a possible replacement for Hasselbaink.
