QPR want to install McClaren, Sun say
QPR want Steve McClaren to return to the club and work with manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, The Sun say.
The former England manager had a brief spell as a coach at Rangers during Harry Redknapp’s time as boss and has since managed Derby and Newcastle.
The Sun say co-chairman Tony Fernandes wants to install McClaren in a senior role, which would leave a question mark over director of football Les Ferdinand’s future.
Hasselbaink, who knows McClaren from their time at Middlesbrough, would be in favour of the move, The Sun say.
McClaren has been studying business management at university and has indicated that he is keen to take up a director of football-type role.
There has been speculation that QPR could make changes since their 6-0 thrashing at home by Newcastle.
It was recently claimed that West Brom manager Tony Pulis was being lined up as a possible replacement for Hasselbaink.

The way I see it, the two main issues we have at the moment is we need to learn how to defend better as a unit and create more scoring opportunities from open play.

I think we certainly played better football when he was last with us,his organizational ability was very evident.I also hope he can teach Jfh something about tactics and how and when to react to situations when they arise,at the moment we react too slowly,Sunderland went a goal down and they made 3changes and turned the game around.
