Sone Aluko hit the post as Fulham bossed a goalless first half at Elland Road.

The summer signing was put through by Matt Smith on 34 minutes and beat the keeper but not the upright from close range.

Floyd Ayite also went close with a glancing header from 16-year-old Ryan Sessegnon’s pinpoint cross

Sessegnon – an academy graduate left-back – made his senior league debut while new signing Jozabed Sanchez took a place on the bench.

Fulham were otherwise unchanged from the side that won at Preston.
