It’s been an eventful day for both Fulham and QPR.

Following weeks of speculation over the future of Ross McCormack, Norwich City have tabled a bid for the Fulham striker.

Rangers, meanwhile, have been hit by the news that Jamie Mackie faces at least three more months on the sidelines.

Jack Robinson will also miss the start of the season – the R’s left-back has a niggling knee problem related to the serious injury which kept him out for more than a year.

QPR have taken Stoke winger Moha El Ouriachi on trial. The 20-year-old featured in a 1-1 draw in a friendly at Burton.

That was 24 hours after West London Sport revealed that QPR want Tottenham’s Alex Pritchard and Iceland striker Jon Dadi Bodvarsson, and are one of several Championship clubs chasing a loan deal for Chelsea forward Patrick Bamford.

Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has insisted that Nemanja Matic remains an important player for the Blues despite reports the midfielder could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge.

Brentford were also in action on Tuesday, losing 1-0 to Peterborough at Griffin Park, where former QPR player Emmanuel Ledesma continued his trial for the Bees.

In cricket, half-centuries from Nick Gubbins and Paul Stirling were not enough as a Peter Trego-inspired Somerset chased down 297 for victory in the Royal London One-Day Cup at Taunton.

And Jordanne Whiley and Andy Lapthorne were both victorious in their opening matches at the British Open Wheelchair Tennis Championships.
