Chelsea frustrated by resolute Norwich

Fernando Torres’ barren run continued as Chelsea missed their chance to make up significant ground at the top of the Premier League.
Torres showed flashes of his ability and was unlucky not to score when he went close with a first-half shot.
But he later sprurned a golden opportunity, poking the ball horribly wide following Jose Bosingwa’s cross – and Norwich were able to withstand heavy second-half pressure.
Goalkeeper John Ruddy was the home side’s star man, producing saves to deny Torres, Ramires and the impressive Juan Mata.
The result meant Chelsea failed in their bid to win four consecutive domestic matches for the first time under manager Andre Villas-Boas.
They were also left with concerns over the condition of Frank Lampard, who limped off during the first half.
There was no debut for Gary Cahill following the England defender’s move from Bolton.
Instead the erratic David Luiz was allowed to continue alongside John Terry and they were caused some discomfort by City’s hardworking front pairing of Grant Holt and Steve Morison.
The closest the Canaries came to scoring was in the first half, when Holt fired narrowly wide after latching onto Morison’s through ball.
