QPR were resounding winners at Loftus Road, beating Brentford 3-0. Here’s how we rated the players in Saturday’s west London derby.

QPR

Alex Smithies: 7
Competed well in the box to gather a number of high balls. Rarely called upon, but produced a stunning save to tip Konstantin Kerschbaumer’s effort over the bar late on.

Nedum Onuoha: 6
A solid display and won an important challenge in the build up to the crucial second goal.

Gabriele Angella: 6
Rarely troubled by an attack that lacked a focal point.

Clint Hill: 7
Visibly struggled with injury at times, but Hill is made of strong stuff and came through the 90 minutes.

James Perch: 7
Another good performance at left-back. He defended resolutely and got forward at any given opportunity.

Karl Henry: 7
A rugged performance from Henry, who seemed to enjoy his run-ins with Brentford’s Alan McCormack and Ryan Woods.

Alejandro Faurlin: 7
Allowed time on the ball to pull the strings in the middle while Henry dealt with the physical work. Laid on the third goal for Tjaronn Chery.

Matty Phillips: 6
Another quiet afternoon from Phillips, who seems to see less of the ball as Junior Holiett and Chery continue their fine runs of form.

Junior Hoilett: 8
A stunning first-half goal capped another excellent showing from the Canadian winger, who ran the Brentford backline ragged.

Tjaronn Chery: 8 
Another excellent performance from the Dutchman, who set up Sebastian Polter to score. His second-half goal was the least he deserved for his overall display.

Sebastien Polter: 7 
Hassled and battled throughout the game and got his reward with QPR’s second – his sixth goal of the season.

Brentford

David Button: 5
Made a couple of decent saves and was not at fault for any of the goals, but his distribution was appalling and heaped more pressure on his team when they were struggling.

Nico Yennaris: 5
Worked hard but was given a torrid time by Hoilett.

Harlee Dean: 6
Struggled against Polter, who never allowed the Bees defence to settle.

Yoann Barbet: 6
Also found the going tough against a strong and fluent Rangers attack.

Jake Bidwell: 6
Did a reasonable job containing Phillips. Dispossessed in the build up to the all-important second goal though.

Josh McEachran: 5
Anonymous for much of the game before being replaced in the second half.

Alan McCorkmack: 7
A feisty performance on his return to the side. That return is a timely one for the struggling Bees and at least one positive to emerge from a miserable afternoon for them.

Ryan Woods: 7
Full of tricks, turns and excellent passing – Woods kept the play turning over in the middle in the first half and he hit the post with a long-range effort. Found the going tougher in the second half, but he was excellent in the first 45 minutes.

Sergi Canos: 7
A lively display from the Spaniard before being replaced just after an hour. A couple of long-range efforts in the first half left Smithies scrambling in the QPR goal.

John Swift: 6
Worked hard off the ball but was unable to have any real influence on the game.

Alan Judge: 7
Always lively and looking to create, but he was isolated up front. Had a number of efforts from range, but only one – in the first half – had Smithies worried as it drifted just wide.

Lasse Vibe: 6
Brought on to provide a presence up front, only for Rangers to make it 2-0 soon afterwards.

Konstantin Kerschbaumer: 6
Nearly scored with a stunning strike on the turn as the away side tried to find their way back into the game, but Smithies was equal to it.
