QPR believe they have pipped Newcastle to Hoilett deal
QPR could find out later today if they have managed to beat Newcastle to the signing of Blackburn Rovers winger Junior Hoilett.
Both the Magpies and Rangers have made offers to Hoilett, who is leaving Ewood Park now his contract has expired.
Rovers will be entitled to compensation unless they accept a deal for the Canadian who, at 22, cannot move on a Bosman free transfer.
Rangers’ former Blackburn boss Mark Hughes and his staff rate Hoilett highly and identified him some time ago as a possible summer signing.
German side Borussia Mönchengladbach have been in pole position to sign Hoilett but now appear reluctant to meet his wage demands, and QPR believe they are well placed to capture him.
The club have also held talks with the agent of Celtic’s Korean star Ki Sung-Yueng,
