Rangers ease to another win in Malaysia
Kelantan 0 QPR 5
Goals from Shaun Wright-Phillips, Michael Harriman, Jamie Mackie, Bobby Zamora and Heidar Helguson gave QPR another comfortable win on their pre-season trip to Malaysia.
But manager Mark Hughes may have an injury concern over striker Djibril Cisse, who was replaced by Andrew Johnson shortly after Wright-Phillips’ 18th-minute opener.
Kelantan battled hard but were undone when Samba Diakite burst down the right and swung the ball towards Adel Taarabt, whose clever pass allowed Wright-Phillips to beat the offside trap and slot home.
Goalkeeper Robert Green, making his QPR debut, dived to his right to keep out a long-range effort during a decent spell of pressure for the hosts.
Early in the second half, young full-back Harriman cut in from the right and fired in.
Max Ehmer’s pull-back, which seemed like it was intended for Johnson, found Mackie and the forward made it three.
Rangers netted a fourth when Helguson was put through by Michael Doughty and unselfishly teed up Zamora, who had the simple task of tapping in.
And in injury time, Ehmer’s low cross from the left was tucked away at the far post by Helguson.
