Rangers chief hints at player exits
QPR chief executive Philip Beard has hinted that there will be departures from Loftus Road in the wake of the club’s recent additions.
Rangers have made six signings already this summer and with the prospect of more on the way, some players will be told they can move on.
Defender Luke Young is likely to leave before the transfer window closes, while other members of the R’s squad are also attracting some interest.
“It’s up to Mark [Hughes], but the way I look at it everyone’s got to fight for their place,” said Beard.
“There’s 25 places available and I’m hoping, knowing the characters we’ve got in the squad, they will all be believing they can get one of those places.
“After that, it’s down to them to prove to Mark that they should be getting a place in the starting XI.
“I think every club has to look at the bigger picture. If you’re bringing a significant number of players in then some players won’t feature in the manager’s plans.
“We’ve given ourselves enough time to look at that carefully and make the right decisions.”
