Redknapp: Rangers players were lethargic
QPR boss Harry Redknapp suggested his players were jaded in their dismal FA Cup defeat at home to Sheffield United.
Rangers’ 3-0 third-round loss against the League One side continued a diabolical run in cup competitions which has included several exits against lower-division opposition and seen the club win only two ties in the last 11 years.
Redknapp made seven changes but nevertheless named an experienced team which included the likes of Rio Ferdinand, Leroy Fer and top scorer Charlie Austin.
“They looked sharper than us all over the pitch,” Redknapp said.
“They were brighter and better than us and looked like a team that had 10 days without playing a game – we were playing our fourth in 10 days and looked lethargic. We looked sluggish today.
“They thoroughly deserved their win. They played well and you’ve got to give them the credit.
“Look at their record – they got to the semi-finals last year and this year are in the semi-finals of the Capital One Cup.
“It’s no good shouting and screaming. What can you do? Our home form has been fantastic.”

And there was me thinking Harry’s greatest strength was his player motivation
