Liverpool ‘could be gazumped’ in bid to buy Fulham star
Italian side Roma could gazump Liverpool and sign Clint Dempsey, according to The People.
Dempsey has been tipped to move to Anfield but Fulham are believed to want £10m for the American.
And it is claimed that Roma are now preparing a bid for him – with the £12m fee they received from Liverpool for striker Fabio Borini.
Meanwhile, the Daily Star Sunday suggest Fulham are still trying to sign Vitesse Arnhem defender Alexander Buttner after the apparent collapse of his move to Southampton.
The People say Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo is planning a £25m bid for German star Andre Schurrle.
It is claimed Di Matteo wants the 21-year-old Bayer Leverkusen striker as a replacement for Didier Drogba.
Schurrle has been linked with several clubs but is said to be swaying towards west London.
Manchester United plan to beat Chelsea to the signing of Borussia Dortmund’s Robert Lewandowski, the Mail on Sunday suggest.
United have apparently indicated that they are willing to pay £12m for the striker.
The Mail also say Chelsea are closing in on Wigan forward Victor Moses after the Latics made an enquiry for Everton’s Victor Anichebe.
And The People say Wigan are competing with Watford and Blackburn for the signing of out-of-favour QPR striker DJ Campbell.

My god Edward your obviously the type who believes everything you read,wise up man,agger and skertel are going nowhere,and the mail are renowned for nonsense football gossip,if lfc sign Williams I’ll personally by Liverpool messi myself.just wait and see,you must think we’re buying 39 players this summer do ya?cause that’s the amount of players weve been linked with.

Honestly, I see the disintegration of LFC as a top 4 EPL contender continuing here, especially now with the imminent sale of agger and possibly the sale of Skrtel too. With BR bringing in swansea players like allen and possibly this Williams guy to replace agger (!) and going for loan deals, he is transforming LFC into another swansea type of team, which will only be good for below 10th position in the EPL
BR can never take LFC to the glory days again with these type of low quality players coming in..oh my god, how the once mighty LFC have fallen!
