Bothroyd turns on fans after Sheffield Wednesday lose at Middlesbrough
Jay Bothroyd vowed to “never interact with fans again” after Sheffield Wednesday were beaten 3-1 at Middlesbrough on Friday evening.
The striker, on loan with the Owls from QPR, was again upset by criticism from supporters.
“Thanks to the travelling fans good support. I think we at a key time when we were on top very disappointed to say the least,” he tweeted after the game.
But he later added: “I set up a goal today put some decent crosses in had a few shots but I’m to blame. Figures. I will never interact with fans again.”
Josh McEachran, on loan from Chelsea, featured for Middlesbrough whose victory took them to the top of the Championship.
“Great win for us tonight! Top of the league!” the midfielder tweeted.
