O’Connor signs new Brentford contract
Brentford club captain Kevin O’Connor has signed a one-year contract extension.
The long-serving midfielder’s previous deal was due to expire in the summer, but despite missing a large part of the season through injury he will remain at Griffin Park until 2014.
O’Connor has been with Brentford since joining as a trainee in 1999 and is fourth on the club’s all-time appearances list, but his career has been blighted by serious injuries in recent seasons.
But the 31-year-old, who has made 12 appearances this term, returned to full training on Monday and has been handed a further boost with the signing of a new deal.
Meanwhile, Everton defender Jake Bidwell has had his loan deal at Brentford extended by another month.
